It's not a weakness

Many people see failures as weaknesses. They see that when their health fails, or they lose their physical abilities, especially those abilities that most people take for granted when they are in good health, they are deemed as failures, handicapped, good-for-nothing.

For the able-bodied, it's very easy to take our physical abilites for granted, especially those we do everyday, such as seeing the beautiful stars, smelling the roses, hearing the rustling of the leaves, eating our favourite food and holding the hands of our loved ones.

For some, combing their hair again might be their everyday prayer because they lost it in treatment. For others, wearing short sleeves might be their desire again seeing the needle pokes at the arms because these are the marks left from dialysis. Yet for another, her birthday wish might just be wanting to wear skirts again.

And yes, they might think because everyone can do all these things and they can't, they have a weakness. Who said that? Who else but the magazines, movies and the society.

But, did God say that if they can't do the things that everyone can do, they are to be condemned as failures? Did God say if you have an illness, you must be a terrible and horrible person and that's why you are punished?

NO! God does not think we are failures. He doesn't hate us, he is not punishing us. In His eyes, we are champions, we are beautiful. It is not a weakness. Trust Him to know that He knows what he is doing and He will turn all these things for His glory.

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 1 Cor 1: 27
