Wedding bells...Ding Ding Ding...

Two of my good friends from the same gang are getting married. One in October and one next year Sept. One of my colleagues just got married in June, and following suit, another one on 1st October. Wedding bells has been ringing non-stop!!!! Looking back, many of my classmates from Secondary School, JC and Uni have taken the wedding vow and all of them, as of now, still happily married. Thank God!

The good news is: It's good to be married (as written in the bible). Union of hearts, multiply and subdue the earth (children are blessings from God and Singapore needs more babies). It's God's desire that we should get married (of cos it's good to stay single too, as written in the bible!). And, all the brides I have seen, whether in photos or in real person, look gorgeous on the wedding day. Maybe it's the makeup, but definitely, you can't miss the happiness that glow from within.

The bad news. You know how much it is to get married and settle down in Singapore? A church wedding can cost 5k? A wedding banquet at 5-6 star hotels can cost $1200 per table. How about a wedding photo package? Honey moon? And the bomb is the house! 300k for a 4-room flat in Toa Payoh! Piangz... Who in Singapore can afford a house without bank loan or a gift from their parents?!? Singapore housing is ridiculously expensive (though many cities have more expensive land than us, but still...) And let's not forget the furniture and renovation!!! That's another 10K. Wake up your idea. Wedding is not only about the lovey dovey romantic feel.

Life in Singapore, if without God is really meaningless, being trapped in an expected life journey. Even before you start work, you are debt-ridden, with study loans, laptop loans, etc. By the time you are done with your loans, you start saving for your wedding and of which, is totally wiped out with the wedding and the purchase of your love nest. Just when you start saving a little, out come your first baby and there goes your hard-earned money for the milk and diapers, hospital fees, insurance etc. By the time you think you have saved enough, it's time to get a car and you might just get yourself trapped again in a vicious cycle of repaying the debts. Sounds like a sad and boring life.

Is that all about life in Singapore? I'm sure there's more to it! With God, life is exciting, even in Singapore! As of now, I can only trust God that he will lead me step-by-step to provide ALL that I need.

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

Shanghai dogs

As you know, I went to Shanghai, which was erm...1 month ago? Last year, when I went to Guangzhou, there were no dogs at all! In Pudong, also no dogs. Wonder where the dogs went. In the stomachs? The dogs in Shanghai are really cute! And huge too! Wonder what they were fed with.

The winning photo: See how BIG the dog is? He is almost the same size as the bike! I think it can piggy-back a little child.

Replica of THE DOG: Isn't he HUGE and CUTE? Feel like stroking his hair. Looks messy.

This dog is bigger than those I saw in Singapore: Fat dog!

Dog meat? Look at the menu. But this shop was never open.

Funny Video from Malacca Retreat!

Yo fans, sorry for not updating my blog. But it's interesting. No activity for 1 month plus and the hits still run! You people have been faithfully visiting my blog! Wonder who you people are. Thanks so much!!!

Have been wanting to add in this video for a long time....Imagine the Malacca retreat ended so so so so long ago. But I tell you, it's really really really really funny!!!

Background of this video:
We were supposed to walk around Malacca, fulfilling 10 stations. Well, we weren't that competitive, so we only completed 5?!? We decided to retreat back to hotel for some solid airconditioning because we were melting like some snowman. And so, while enjoying the aircon and savouring some nice durian tarts, and too much time on our hands, our creative juices flowed and came the fruit of our labour! Tata.... Enjoy!

The task was to pretend that someone was the MP candidate of Melaka and do some election talk to sweeten the ground so that people will vote for you. Kudos to Leo for being arrowed and did such wonderful job! Look out for the meaning of LEO....

Well, someone has got to announce the results right? And so our dear brother became the returning officer and brought in the good news. Look out for Pian Gin Na and the statistics of the votes. The colour of the face was not a special effect. It was an unexpected bonus effect.

Yeah!!! And so, LEO won the Melaka MP election and that's his winning speech. This had the most NG takes. But well, it's worth it.
